International Queer Video Game Association is run by Curtis Campion (Cafe Empty). This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell anything, and analytics only run if you say yes.

Cookies and storage

  • Analytics (only with your consent): if you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to count visits and see which pages are used. If you don't, the analytics script never loads. lets you change your choice at any time; withdrawing deletes those cookies.
  • Your choices (necessary): your browser's local storage remembers that you've seen the welcome message and your analytics choice, so we don't ask again. This stays on your device.
  • Spam protection (necessary): our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're a person. Cloudflare processes technical details such as your IP address to do this.
  • Admin sign-in (necessary): people who manage the site get a session cookie when they sign in. Visitors never do.

What you send us

  • Game submissions and feature requests: your name, email and what you tell us about the game. We use them to review the game and to reply to you. Submissions are deleted once they're dealt with and no longer needed.
  • Newsletter: your email address, used only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them straight away.

The legal basis is your consent for analytics and the newsletter, and our legitimate interest in running the directory and responding to submissions.

Who helps us

These services process data on our behalf. Some are based outside the EU and the UK:

  • Supabase stores the directory and form submissions.
  • Vercel hosts the site.
  • Resend stores newsletter subscribers and sends emails.
  • Cloudflare provides Turnstile spam protection.
  • Google provides Google Analytics, only if you accept.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how it's used, by contacting us through the contact form. If you're in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
